The MIDAS program
provides for the transmission of inspection assignments
to inspectors, entry of inspection findings on a PDA
(Personal Data Assistant), and transmission of inspection
findings to the home office. All of which is done
in a format consistent with ASME elevator inspection
standards and in support of jurisdictional inspection
requirements.
MIDAS eliminates
office data entry of inspection findings, greatly reduces
the turnaround time between inspections, invoicing and
other correspondence, and eliminates clerical transcription
errors.
The field component
(the PDA) provides for:
• Entry of inspection findings.
• Revision of the data sheet elements.
• Display of previous inspection findings.
• Revision of owner, location addresses and contact
information.
• On site printing of an Inspection Report.
• Entry and printing of inspector and customer
signatures.
